After a rocky past few weeks, which included a 6 game losing streak and injuries to key players, the Toronto Blue Jays have qualified for the 2020 post season (thanks to an expanded playoffs structure this year). The accomplishment is even more impressive seeing as they haven’t played a single game in Toronto all year, moving to a temporary home in Buffalo after the federal government in July denied the club the use of their Rogers Centre.
The Blue Jays will look to Bo Bichette, Teoscar Hernández, Randal Grichuk, Calvin Biggio, Vlad Guerrero Jr., and Lourdes Gurriel Jr., to help carry the deep offence against the Tampa Bay Rays (*subject to change) and their deep pitching staff. Budding stars such as Alejandro Kirk and Rodwy Tellez have also shown their importance during this year’s wild season. Newly added SP’s Hyun-Jin Ryu and Taijuan Walker will look to continue their strong regular seasons as likely starters for Games 1 and 2.
Game 1 will be Tuesday September 29, and will the the first of a 3 game series.
