US Open – Day 6

What a night of tennis we had. If anyone is just getting up after the 4 hour + epic between Stefanos Tsitispas and Borna Coric last nigh that ended at half past 1 am, good morning. The greek blew 5 match points while Coric dug deep to secure what is likely the most memorable victory of his career thus far.

Today’s marquee match ups include De Minaur vs Khachanov, RBA vs. Pospisil, Fuscovics vs. Tiafoe and finally the most anticipated match of the day, Thiem vs. Cilic.

On the women side, the matches to watch will be Jabeur vs. Kenin, and Stephens vs. Williams, the latter being one of the most anticipated games off the day.

My picks to win both titles are still Djokovic and Osaka. Djokovic somehow keeps getting better each year and likely will not lose a 5 set match against Thiem or Medvedev. There’s a bit of uncertainty surrounding Osaka’s hamstring, but she looked very solid in her last match, and when she’s at her best (which we have yet to see), she is unplayable.

Enjoy the matches tonight !
