Juventus shares sink as star player Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for COVID 19

Earlier today, in a statement from the national soccer federation, Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the worlds most recognized and beloved football stars, has been sent home from the Portuguese national team after testing positive for COVID 19.

The team released the following statement:

“Cristiano Ronaldo was released from the work of the National Team after a positive test for COVID-19, so he will not face Sweden.

The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.

Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in Cidade do Futebol.”

The news of the positive annocuenment sent the shares of Juventus FC (one of the three publicly traded clubs in Serie A) into a nosedive, matching lows not seen since Black Monday in March/April.
