LFC sign two defenders on deadline day

Liverpool FC, currently sitting third in the Premier League table, have completed two singings on the 11th hour of the transfer deadline.

The reds have added Ben Davies from Preston North End (EFL championship) and Ozan Kabank from Schalke 04 (Bundesliga).

Player exits included Takumi Minanimo, who left Liverpool for a loan spell at Southampton.

After season-ending injuries to starting CB’s Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez, Liverpool was forced to use a makeshift back line of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson over the past month. Joel Matip, the 3rd choice CB, was announced yesterday to have suffered a season-ending ankle injury.

Liverpool have been forced into 16 different center-back partnerships due to injuries this season.

Liverpool’s next game is at home to Brighton, who are are fresh of their first home win of the season against the declining Spurs.

The first major sports event of the year comes this weekend when Liverpool plays Manchester City at Anfield. City is currently 3 points ahead of Liverpool with a game in hand.
